Kazuya (Kaz) obtained his B.S. in Chemistry from St. Francis College. While attending St. Francis, he researched tangential purification methods for Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) as a visiting researcher at Princeton University. Kaz obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska. His research focused on the development of new asymmetric catalysts and total synthesis of natural products. He gained hands on experience on a broad range of analytical instruments.
Prior to attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Kaz worked as a research scientist with Bayer Chemical to improve polyurethane foam quality.
Outside the office, Kaz enjoys traveling and spotting commercial airliner.
Kaz is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
